Con’s Of Ductless HVACs

In our last blog we covered how the revolutionary ductless HVAC and all the pro’s that it brings with it’s new method of heating and cooling your Gainesville home. Today we are going to cover a few of the con’s that people have found when looking into a ductless unit.

This is the primary disadvantage that people found in ductless units. It is roughly $1,500 to $2,000 per ton of cooling capacity. This is a pretty decent amount more than your standard heating and cooling unit, but would definitely make up for it’s cost in the amount of energy it saves.

Each indoor unit must be properly fitted and installed in the best location for the space that it will be heating and cooling. If a unit is not properly fitted it will most likely not produce the right amount of cooling or heating needed.

Since there are no ducts, the part of the system that is indoors is bulkier than the average vent. This part does come in both floor and ceiling options for you to choose from, so there is selection. But if the bulkiness is not something that you imagine would be cohesive with your home, this is something to take into consideration.

The only other con that people found with ductless units was that they had a hard time finding someone who could install it for them, which is not a problem that you have! North Central Florida Air Condition, Inc. can install all types of ductless units in any home in Gainesville. Call us today with any questions, and schedule your ductless unit installation.
